TED. . .When this virus pandemic began, my wife approached me with her idea to create paper toys to help bring comfort to children and adults, who may be experiencing fear and anxiety. I immediately offered her support.
Using my professional experience as a clinical social worker, adoptions caseworker, California State Emergency Response Team member and FEMA, I collaborated with my wife to help her create what you are now viewing. Working during the day, evening and early morning hours, my wife would be on the computer, creating each piece of the toy, coloring, measuring, remeasuring numerous times, printing and finally putting the pieces together. She then proceeded to create the scenic background for each piece.
NOELLE. . . I have been a designer for Disney, Hallmark and Universal. My final stint was as a Librarian at the Cerritos Library, in California. There I developed collateral materials, and paper novelties for the city’s Summer Reading Programs. My Ted, is our author.
OUR HOPES . . .With the participation of parents and others, thru this therapeutic play and educational activity, the hope is that children will feel more secure knowing that adults are working hard to protect them and what they can do to protect themselves.
